Las Vegas Shooting, Worst Mass Shooting In US History
Service was held at city park Los Angeles for the 59 victims of the worst mass shooting incident in the United States. City officials commended first responders. Relatives of victims hugged and shared memories of their loved ones.
Stephen Craig Paddock who killed himself afterwards attacked the Country Music Festival at Las Vegas Strip Sunday night, shot from the 32nd floor of Mandalay Bay Hotel. The shooting lasted for about 10 minutes. Hundreds of rounds was fired from the elevated position at unprotected people at the Country Music Festival Concert holding on the Strip across the hotel grounds. Final report gives 59 dead and 527 injured.

The 64 year old made his move few minutes past 10pm. People thought the gunshots were fire crackers and did not duck until they saw people falling as the bullets mowed them down.

Paddock worked with the US Postal Service, IRS and The Defense Contract Audit Agency between 1970 and 1985. He resides in Mesquite, a retiree community 90 miles off northeast of Las Vegas. He has a real estate business and owns close to 42 houses.

Police said gunman was not known to law enforcement. He has on criminal records. no driving tickets FBI believes he was working alone and has no accomplices and no link to international terror groups.

Police discovered multiple scopes and a hammer which is believed he used to knock off the windows. The gunman equally set up cameras in his room and also in the hallway to keep tabs on anyone approaching his suite.

Stephen’s younger brother Eric said his was neither a violent man nor any military background. He continued that Stephen is a rich guy that owned houses, uses cruisers and flies airplanes. Eric lives in Florida. He spoke to Stephen 5 days before the shooting. Stephen had asked after their mum and never showed signs of apprehension or been disturbed.
“Steve sent a walker and boxes of chocolates to our 90 year old mum whom he few days ago” said Eric. Their father Benjamin Hoskins Paddock, was on FBI’s most wanted list for bank robbery in the 70’s Eric informed reporters.
Investigators are still working on deciphering Stephen’s motives. They also have to determine what happened during the 45 minutes interval when the gun stopped till the SWAT team broke into Stephens and how exactly did the gunman Kill himself.
