8 Die in New York Deadly Terror Attack
Man drives a rented truck into pedestrians and bikers on a bike path 3:05 p.m on the West Side Highway, lower Manhattan, New York. He drove south for nearly a mile, mowing down cyclists and pedestrians. The location is a few blocks from the One World Trade Center. Eight individuals lay dead after the attack and a dozen wounded, some of them critically.
Sayfullo Habibullaevic, Saipov, 29 has been confirmed by the police as the suspect. A note found in the truck mentioned he did it for ISIS.

He had entered the bike path at Houston street just as school kids were turning out from school. He lost control at Chambers street. He probably, deliberately collided with a school bus conveying disabled children as he left the bike path. Two of the Children were injured in the collision.

Saipov shouted Allahu Akhbar after exiting the rented truck which was immobilized by the crash with the school bus. He brandished fake guns; a pallet gun and a paintball gun as he got down from the Home Depot rented truck.
A uniform policeman confronted the attacker and shot him in the abdomen. He was arrested and is receiving treatment for gunshot wound in hospital.
Six of his victims died at the scene, another two were pronounced dead at the hospital. Among the dead are one Belgian and five Argentines, former classmates, holidaying in New York.
Vehicle attacks is relatively a new tactics by terrorists. It has been used over 50 times in Israel alone. Such attacks has been carried out in Spain, Italy. Germany and twice in London this year.

Saipov first came into the country in 2010 via Florida from his native country Uzbekistan, a former republic of the Soviet Union.. He has Green Card and is a licensed truck driver. His drivers license shows he lives in Tampa Florida and some time lived in Ohio. His record also shows he has had minor traffic offences.
Feds are working New jersey Home Depot rental where he rented the truck. Investigators gathered he rented the truck 2 P.M today and drove straight to Manhattan. He is believed to be currently related to a New Jersey address he gave to Home Depot. Investigations will show if he is acting alone. Authorities would have to determine who radicalized him. He is also said to drive for ride share service Uber.
Analysts think he apparently did not intend to get away after the attack prompting him to draw the fake guns in a bid to draw police fire and gain martyrdom at the scene. He may equally have not been able to get a gun.

President Trump was briefed about the incident. In a tweeter statement, He also condoled with the families of the dead and injured. The president in the tweet linked the incident to ISIS which made analysts feel that he is quick to make such assertion. "Our thoughts and prayers are with the victims of today’s terrorist attack in New York City and their families," Trump said
He commended New York Police for responding promptly. "My Administration will provide its full support to the New York City Police Department, including through a joint investigation with the Federal Bureau of Investigation. We offer our thanks to the first responders who stopped the suspect and rendered immediate aid to the victims of this cowardly attack.
New York Mayor Bill De Blasio called it “a particularly cowardly act” in a statement to press.
Gov. Andrew Cuomo said this appeared to be the work of a "lone wolf."
"There's no evidence to suggest a wider plot," he said.

This is the deadliest attack in New York since 9/11. Thousands of people lined the streets in the evening to celebrate Halloween Parade at Greenwich Village ” New York always comes back” said an individual as he awaits the night parade to commence. City authorities urge families to turn out for the event and no be deterred by the earlier incident. Authorities said they have provided adequate security and also used heavy duty city trucks to block intersections in a bid to keep people safe.
